OT Advanced Tuner The "OT Advanced Tuner" allows you to view and set internal TCP/IP parameters under Macintosh Open Transport. Select the parameter you wish to view or set from the popup menu at the top left of the window. The current parameter value is shown in the box below and indicated on the graph by the pair of green triangles. The default value for this parameter is also shown and indicated on the graph by the blue inverted "T". The minimum and maximum legal values appear to the left and right of the graph respectively. The bar graph and the edit field immediately to the right of the parameter name shows the new value to be set when the Make Active button is selected. You can adjust the new value by editing the text field, clicking or dragging on the bar graph, or clicking the up/down arrows at the right top of the window. For parameters representing time or a number of bytes, you can select the most convenient units by using the corresponding menu to right of the edit field. The text box immediately above the word "Status" provides a description of each parameter. The "Status:" field indicates the result of the last control operation (ioctl) used to get or set an internal OT parameter. If the status field indicates an unknown value was ignored, you may need to select a smaller unit to specify a new value more precisely. You can save any parameter settings you enter as a Tuner settings document. If the "Save As Auto Configure" check box is selected, opening that settings document will automatically install the parameter settings you saved and quit the application. To restore your parameter settings each time your system is restarted, simply place the corresponding Tuner settings document in your Startup Items folder. Hold down the Option key to open an auto configure settings document without installing the settings. As currently implemented, the OT Advanced Tuner is intended for configurations where TCP/IP is permanently loaded since there is no automatic way to remember custom settings when TCP/IP is unloaded (TCP must not be set to "load only when needed" as commonly used for dial-up connections). Keyboard Shortcuts: Cmd-up Previous in parameter name popup menu Cmd-down Next in parameter name popup menu Option Do not install auto configure settings when opening a Tuner document.
